HOW TO UPGRADE AN OLD PHONE INTO A PORSCHE

Ortiz's story brings to mind the similar accomplishment of Kyle MacDonald, a Canadian who started "Craigslist swapping" with a red paperclip in 2005 and eventually ended up with a two-story farmhouse. Through his blog and the kindness of strangers, MacDonald made 14 swaps over the classifieds website, upgrading one item to a more valuable one until he ended up with a house a year later.
Craigslist isn't so different from a newspaper's classified section: People list items they no longer want for whatever reason. But sometimes instead of selling these items for paltry amounts of cash, online users barter with each other. For example, one person might be willing to part with a record collection. But that bin of old vinyl might be a treasure trove to someone with an extra bicycle on their hands. So people email back and forth, meet up, swap, and oftentimes end up owning something ...
CHELSEA CLINTON'S WEDDING COULD RUIN ANOTHER!!!
Posted 7/21/2010 11:42:00 AM
The wedding date was booked two years in advance, the dress purchased, the expenses covered. Nothing was going to rain on Emn Haddad-Friedman’s wedding day. Except Chelsea Clinton.
The other bride getting married on July 31st in the Rhinebeck area has a message for the former first daughter: It's her day too. But to Rhinebeck and the rest of the world, it’s not. “I know she’s not doing it on purpose,” says the Brooklyn-based school teacher. “But Chelsea Clinton has taken what was supposed to be a special day for me turned it into hell.”
Chelsea Clinton and boyfriend, Marc Mezvinsky, an investment banker, got engaged in 2009 and speculation about their wedding details have been escalating exponentially ever since. In April, the close-knit upstate town, made the short-list for the affair. This past week, when the 50-acre estate, Astor Court, was named as the likely site, and a rumored ...
DIERKS NAME CHECKS DOG!
Posted 7/5/2010 3:49:00 PM
Dierks Bentley and his dog Jake have pretty much been inseparable since the onset of Dierks' country career, and his new album 'Up on the Ridge' is no different. This time around, however, Jake made his way into one of his master's songs. Dierks says he name-dropped his cool canine companion as a nod to his fans because he knew they'd pick up on the nuance in the new single, which also happens to be the disc's title track.
"It's the first time I've mentioned him in a song," says Dierks. "The first time I added his name in, I thought, 'No you can't put Jake in there ... maybe you should change the line.' And I thought about changing it to, 'hear those hounds start to howl, when they hear that old hoot owl' instead. But I thought at the end, 'No, I gotta put Jake in there.' I knew ...
DIERKS IS BAD!!

When the singer was 18, he set up a lemonade stand with a few friends -- and got caught spiking the lemonade with vodka!
"The cops told us we had to leave and were cool about it, but they came by again and we were plastered," Bentley explains. "We all went down to the little jail, but it was pretty harmless fun."
DIERKS ON JIMMY KIMMEL!!
Posted 6/22/2010 2:46:00 PM
Dierks Bentley is no stranger to improvising on stage. So when the lights went out in the 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' studio just one hour before the country star was set to perform on the late night talk show, he didn't flinch.
The Associated Press reports that an unexplained power outage shut down Kimmel's control room, broadcast transmission center and tape operations area. Audience members were already in their seats, with the night's guests -- actor Seth Roen, comedian John Henson, Dierks and his band -- all waiting, according to Dierks, in a "very spooky backstage."
But thanks to the quick thinking of Kimmel himself, the show went on as planned ... just with a bit more narrow of a camera angle. The host grabbed his laptop computer and taped the entire show on his webcam. "Who knew you could shoot a late night show with a Mac?" Dierks joked via Twitter.
