In addition to the live music, the tour’s sponsors were offering free giveaways and contests.

The Senate voted 59 to 39 on Wednesday to restore emergency jobless benefits to millions of people who have been out of work for more than six months.

House leaders say they will ratify the measure Thursday and send it on to the White House, where President Obama plans to immediately sign it.

The bill would authorize states to provide retroactive support to an estimated 2.5 million people who have seen their unemployment checks cut off since federal benefits expired June 2. It would also make available up to 99 weeks of income support through the end of November to millions more who have exhausted state benefits, which typically last for 26 weeks. Advocates for the unemployed say it could be several weeks in some states before the checks are in the mail.

The vote comes after a months-long election-year battle over whether to pay for the $34 billion measure ...

Lindsay Lohan Expected To Serve Only 14 Days Of 90-Day Jail Term

A Beverly Hills judge was adamant that Lindsay Lohan serve jail time for violating her probation, ordering the actress to 90 days behind bars and 90 days in an inpatient rehab facility earlier this month. "It's like someone who cheats but doesn't think it's cheating if they don't get caught," Judge Marsha Revel said about the troubled star's behavior at the time.

On Tuesday (July 20), only hours after Lohan turned herself in to begin her sentence, it was reported that her bid would be reduced to a possible 14 days due to prison overcrowding.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a spokesman in the Sheriff's Department confirmed that the former Disney star has a projected release date of August 1 or 2.

Because Lohan is a nonviolent offender, she is eligible to serve only 25 percent of her already reduced time of 51 days, which was brought down from ...

It seems Carrie Underwood's new husband, NHL hockey star Mike Fisher, is making some new friends in the country music world. Fisher has reportedly become tight with Brad Paisley, who even offered him some advice on celebrity marriages during a recent lunch.

Paisley, who is married to Father Of The Bride star Kimberly Williams-Paisley, advised the two to enjoy their careers and the traveling as much as possible before they have kids.

"He's busy with his job; he's obviously not going to play hockey for the rest of his life. [Carrie's] as hot as she can be. They're able now to enjoy that travel process and be away now and then," Paisley explained during a recent radio interview.

He added, "They haven't even been together for more than a week or so, I think. They're just like us. It's going to work well."

Fisher and Underwood are currently on their ...
